At Harper, the quality of the images you reproduce is our number one priority.
It
has been that way since 1971 when Ron and Katherine Harper founded a company in
Charlotte, North Carolina to build base cylinders for the engraving and chrome
plating trades.
Today, Harper Corporation of America is the leading innovator in anilox roll
production and restoration for the corrugated, wide web, narrow web and
newspaper flexographic printing markets. We are a worldwide company with
manufacturing facilities in Charlotte, NC, Green Bay, WI.
Over the past 34 years, Ron and Katherine Harper have introduced a line of
products that have set standards for the industry.
ANILOX TECHNOLOGIES

In 1989, Harper introduced a major breakthrough with Echocel™ laser-engraved,
ceramic anilox rolls - up to 1200 cells per inch. This roll provided the
industry with the first 60° hexagonal cell configuration, which today is the
standard pattern for high quality flexo printing throughout the world. The
consistent, repeatable cell structure of these rolls assisted printers in
achieving printing clarity never before possible.
Today, Harper introduces Platinum™ Technology - a revolutionary
innovation that helps keep ink from plugging the cells in the surface of the
anilox roll. Smooth uniform cells created by the Platinum process mean that ink
releases easily, less ink plugs in the roll and is wasted, easy identification
of a plugged cell and reduces doctor blade wear.
Currently, Harper operates more than any other anilox manufacturer in the
world. The Charlotte, NC location runs eleven, while the Green Bay satellite
facility operates five. Both Harper locations are currently holding
certification for ISO 9001:2000.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Since its beginning, the cornerstone of the company is a 24-hour-a-day personal
commitment to its customers. Consultation about any technical concern is only a
phone call away. The Harper GraphicSolutions technical service team includes
ten highly trained individuals - five are former Flexographic printers. On-site
troubleshooting assistance is available.
Additionally, Harper's unique WalkingSeminar™ program offers the
industry a different concept in technical training. This program has brought
thousands of visitors from around the world to Harper's Advanced Surface
Technologies Center.
Offered at both manufacturing locations (Charlotte, NC and Green Bay, WI), the
WalkingSeminar™ is a unique, highly-interactive training program -
including a tour of our anilox manufacturing facility, combined with a
technical printing session customized to your specific needs. The program is
offered to printers, suppliers, educators, students, print buyers, or other
interested parties, and typically lasts from 4-6 hours.
MOVING FORWARD
Today, the Harper mission remains the same as when Ron and Katherine Harper
began in the early 1970's: "To provide products and services that will advance
the printing capabilities of its customers to a level that will allow entry
into otherwise exclusive markets."
As quickly as technology advances, The Harper Group of Flexo Companies will be
there to pioneer yet another new development for the industry.
