HarperScientific™ Develops Exact-Match Hand Proofer
New product will save converters tens of thousands each year

Charlotte, N.C., May 17, 2005 – Anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation of America’s HarperScientific™ division is proud to announce that it has perfected a tool which can save converters more than $62,000 in the first year of its use, and more than $300,000 over five years.

The Phantom™ Precision Hand Proofer employs ceramic, laser-engraved anilox rolls, so its cells can duplicate the exact line screen and volume as the rolls on the user’s press.

This revolutionary tool is designed to draw down water-, UV- or solvent-based ink, adhesives or coatings, and it can be used on any substrate. In addition, it boasts a quick-change steel doctor blade and a solvent-resistant rubber transfer roll. Together, these features create a precision tool that ensures that the color match on the proof is identical to the match sheet from the press.
