Charlotte, N.C., February 26, 2009 - Global anilox supplier Harper Corporation of America is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its proprietary 30o Hexagon Channeling technology with a new informational guide about the anilox roll's benefits.

First introduced in 1999, Harper Corporation's 30o Hexagon Channeling technology lays down a uniform and smooth flexo coating. Harper laser engravers created a channel that moves heavy inks and coatings in a smooth line. This creates a solid ink film with minimal pinholes. By emphasizing uniform coverage over increased ink volume, these rolls maximize opacity, reduce drying time and cut production costs.

The outstanding print results are partially due to two important factors: First, the unique engineering of the cells allows excess thick ink to be doctored off without trapping air. With less ink build-up on the roll, "spitting" of UV inks off the doctor blade and "misting" of UV, water-based and solvent-based inks on high-speed presses are minimized. Second, the serpentine sidewalls support the doctor blade, leaving no trace of vertical lines in the printed surface.
