Harper Corporation of America Draws a Crowd with Phantom QD™ at FFTA Annual Forum and Info*Flex Exhibition

Published: 05.14.2012

Charlotte, North Carolina, May 14, 2012—Global anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation showcased its laser engraving expertise by displaying its Extreme Digital Imaging (XDI™) on a ceramic roll. Using the XDI technique, portraits of key Harper family members were engraved, along with product names and trademarks. The banded roll also displayed bands of the most popular and successful of Harper’s anilox engravings. Using XDI skills, exploded images at 1,230x magnification of the actual banded engravings were added, allowing a visual glimpse of the roll. This was proudly displayed at the 2012 FFTA Annual Forum and Info*Flex Exhibition March 18 – 21. This work of art showcases Harper’s latest in engraving technologies and will be on display at Drupa. Harper representatives working the booth also presented products developed by the HarperScientific division, including demonstrations of the Phantom QD™ ink proofing system.

The Phantom QD™ is a proofing system that helps pressrooms streamline efficiency through repeatability. The easy to operate system has truly revolutionized the flexographic industry—without compromising affordability. With its standard features including constant loading pressure, glass surface, magnetically loaded Doctor Blade, hard coated finish, a solid handle without a spring, interchangeable anilox and rubber rolls, and more, this portable piece of equipment is changing the way flexographic professionals approach the printing process.

The Harper GraphicSolutions team was proud to present the organization’s cutting-edge products this year, as it is the first FFTA Forum and Info*Flex Exhibition since it earned FIRST certification as “Implementation Specialist.” This prestigious designation indicates the admirable level of professionalism, knowledge, and dedication the team has with regard to the flexographic industry.

The event was also notable for another reason: Sean Teufler, Technical Graphics Advisor, HGS Division, was recognized with the FTA President’s Award. This honor reflects Teufler’s commitment to professional development, including continual education and research efforts.

Harper Corporation of America considers its presentation at the FFTA Annual Forum and Info*Flex Exhibition a major success and looks forward to next year’s event.
