Company Description
HarperScientific™ is the Printing and Coatings Supplies Division of
Harper Corporation of America. With facilities in Charlotte, NC.;
DePere, Wis.; Herford, Germany; and Bangkok, Thailand; HarperScientific
provides products and services to flexographic printers all over the
world. As a leader in the precision proofing market, HarperScientific supplies
precision proofers, safe and user-friendly ink cleaners and measurement
equipment.
Markets Served
HarperScientific services the flexo, offset and gravure industries, as well as
all OEM markets with printing presses, by offering supplies for all segments of
the printing industry. This includes supplies for various inks and adhesives
and coatings, including water-, solvent- and UV-ink markets.
Technical Services
Harper GraphicSolutions, the technical
service team affiliated with HarperScientific, employs hands-on industry
veterans to assist converters with troubleshooting and problem solving.
Customized seminars are available on-site or at our
facilities.
Facilities
HarperScientific has U.S. facilities in Charlotte, NC, and Green Bay, WI, as
well as facilities in Herford Germany, and Bangkok, Thailand.

Technologies
Pioneers of the patented "Echocel Junior™"
precision hand proofer, HarperScientific was instrumental in developing a
simulation of the printing press by manufacturing proofers with laser-engraved
ceramic anilox rolls with doctor blade metering. This technology enables the
user to draw down the exact color with a hand-held instrument. Our latest
development is the Phantom™ hand proofer which
offers many benefits with great results.
HarperScientific specializes in flexographic and
gravure hand-proofing systems for water, solvent and UV systems, which
incorporate XLT™
laser-engraved ceramic anilox rolls with doctor blades. These hand proofers
include anilox volume ranges of 1.3 - 20.0 BCM, as well as both 60- and
30-degree hexagonal engraving. They also are available with single and banded
anilox rolls.
We have just introduced the Phantom QD™ Proofing
System. It is the very first system that is fully portable and utility free so
it is not locked in the ink room. Carry it to the press and dial in your ink!
HarperScientific developed the CERAMCLEAN II™
line of ink cleaners to remove water, solvent, and UV-based inks and adhesives.
CeramClean II™ will effectively & efficiently remove dried ink from the
engraving without damaging the cell structure on ceramic and chrome cylinders.
It will remove Water, UV and most Solvent based inks and in most instances will
remove those tough stains found on the roll face.
CeramClean II™ cleaner may be used on gravure and chrome cylinders providing the
same fantastic results.
CeramClean II™ is an excellent stain remover. It can also be used as a
supplemental cleaning tool for removing stains or un-cleaned spots on anilox
rolls after cleaning on various machine systems.
