Harper Senses Optimism Among Visitors At LabelExpo Show

Published: 10.07.2010

Charlotte, NC, October 7, 2010 – The top sales executive at global anilox supplier Harper Corporation returned from LabelExpo Americas 2010 convinced the optimism he found there is real and better days lie ahead for the industry.

The three-day event near Chicago is recognized as the largest exposition and conference dedicated to the label, web printing, product decoration, converting and packaging industry.

This year’s show attracted nearly 13,000 visitors -- including a greater than expected turnout among printers based in Latin America.

“Harper was very happy with the recent LabelExpo Americas,” said Pete Hartman, the company’s VP Sales. “We had steady traffic at our booth and, overall, our customers were very positive about their business outlook for the rest of 2010 and 2011.”

Harper views LabelExpo as an opportunity to reconnect with its narrow web customers, network with co-suppliers and preview products that are new to the market, Hartman said.

The company’s booth showcased a variety of products. Among the company’s Phantom QD™ advanced proofing systems on display was a new-to-the-market motorized version from HarperScientific™, Harper’s printing and coating supplies division.

Special technology workshops, new to LabelExpo this year, drew capacity audiences, according to show organizers. The workshops are likely to become a staple of upcoming shows. Another sign of the event’s success: even before the show’s conclusion, organizers said, 82 percent of exhibition space had been reserved for LabelExpo Americas 2012.
